Increased Fire Risks in Hoarder Home

The Triple Threat: Fire, Hoarding, and BioHazard CleanUp

SERVPRO of Metro Pittsburgh East was called to this scene after a fire broke out in the adjacent living room of this hoarder house. The owner of the home had a serious hoarding issue which took over the entire house. The before photo shows the cluttered and smoke filled kitchen, without power, and the use of utilities. The after photo shows how SERVPRO of Metro Pittsburgh East transformed this kitchen into a fresh start for the owner of the house. 

Safety First: If you know someone in this situation, try to help them make a home safety plan so in the event of a fire, they can make a safe escape. Also try to install working smoke alarms in the home and test them once a month.
